Job Title: Mammography Technologist
Location: Falmouth MA
Schedule: Full-Time 40 hours/week
Shift: Day Shift (8-hour shifts)
Shift Timing Options:
- 7:30 AM 3:30 PM
- 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
- 9:00 AM 5:00 PM
Occasional weekends and holidays required
Position Overview
A reputable healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic mammography and bone density (DEXA) exams. The ideal candidate will ensure patient safety maintain compliance with regulatory standards and deliver exceptional patient care in a clinical imaging environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures
- Conduct stereotactic and DEXA (bone density) exams
- Prepare and position patients ensuring comfort and safety
- Review physician orders and prior imaging for accuracy
- Operate and maintain mammography equipment in compliance with safety standards
- Perform quality control checks and maintain compliance documentation
- Educate patients on procedures and post-exam expectations
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging data in PACS
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare teams
- Ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols
- Monitor inventory and report equipment issues as needed
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a JCERT-accredited Radiography Program
- ARRT Certification (Radiologic Technologist)
- Active Massachusetts State License in Radiology and Mammography
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience in 3D Mammography (Digital Breast Tomosynthesis)
- Strong communication and patient care skills
Preferred Qualifications
- ARRT Bone Density Operator Certification
- Experience performing DEXA scans
- Knowledge of MQSA and ACR standards
