On behalf of our client we are looking for a competent skilled and experienced FTTH Technician to work in Nairobi Kenya

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled FTTP Technician to install maintain and troubleshoot fiber optic networks for residential and business addition to field work the ideal candidate will also contribute as a network designer and developer supporting the planning and improvement of fiber infrastructure.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Install and terminate fiber optic cables for FTTH and FTTB deployments

Perform splicing testing and troubleshooting of fiber lines

Install and configure ONTs (Optical Network Terminals) at customer premises

Conduct site surveys and assess installation requirements

Assist in the design and development of fiber network layouts and infrastructure

Support network expansion planning and optimization initiatives

Diagnose and resolve connectivity and signal issues

Ensure all installations meet safety and quality standards

Maintain accurate documentation of installations network designs and service work

Provide technical support and customer guidance when required

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Proven experience in fiber optic installation and maintenance

Knowledge of FTTP/FTTH network architecture

Basic experience or understanding of network design and development

Experience with fiber splicing and testing tools (OTDR power meter etc.)

Basic understanding of networking (IP routers switches)

Ability to work independently and in field environments

Willingness to relocate from Kenya to Tanzania

Certifications in fiber optics or telecommunications

Experience working with ISPs or telecom providers

Exposure to network planning tools or GIS systems
