We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in therole Assistant Vice President - Finance Business Partnering SSV Europe and Americas.
Purpose of the role
The role holder will be part of Management Reporting Team delivering high-quality management reporting and business insights for the SSV business enabling informed decision-making through clear assessment of performance and analysis of key drivers. The role covers end-to-end delivery across OpCo reporting business performance reporting FRP/forecasting cost reporting and customer profitability translating complex financial outcomes into actionable narratives for senior stakeholders. The role holder will also drive continuous improvement through insight-led analysis automation and process enhancement and support solution design to meet evolving business needs. Acting as an SME and key point of contact the role holder will manage stakeholder expectations across finance business leadership change and IT teams ensuring effective query management and exception handling within a complex reporting environment.
In this role you will:
- Ensure smooth delivery of OpCo reporting product/segment MI cost & FTE reporting client profitability MI submissions reconciliations and analytical review packs including Actuals vs Forecast analysis and value-added commentary.
- Deliver planning and forecasting cycles (Group Targets FRP forecasting and budgeting) providing financial data and analysis to support business decisions; investigate and explain key movements across major P&L lines and performance drivers.
- Partner with business and other finance teams to understand and explain variances between Actuals/Forecast and Target ensuring a consistent performance narrative for senior stakeholders.
- Perform client profitability analysis and deep dives leveraging client reporting systems to assess P&L and balance sheet performance identify key drivers and trends deliver actionable insights and support adhoc requests.
- Review and challenge MI actuals FRP/forecasting budgeting and boundary changes; drive continuous improvement by incorporating stakeholder feedback and transformation impacts into reporting.
- Support framework/system changes and UAT ensuring timely implementation and maintaining data integrity through robust control procedures across MI actuals and reporting outputs.
- Drive operational efficiency and productivity through process improvement and automation; deliver high-quality outputs that enable senior leadership decision-making including rapid turnaround on ad hoc requests.
- Ensure robust governance controls and resilience across reporting suite including data quality checks reconciliations documented methodologies/assumptions timely issue escalation EUC assessments SOP ownership training and back-up planning to deliver accurate auditable outputs.
Skills required to be successful in this role:
- Qualified accountant (e.g. CA CFA MBA) with 5 years post-qualification experience in financial and management reporting; experience within a global banking environment is highly desirable.
- Strong working knowledge of reporting tools is essential including advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills; Hands-on experience developing reporting and automation solutions using Qlik Python or Alteryx is highly desirable. Knowledge of AI-enabled tools is an advantage.
- Commercial acumen Strong understanding of banking business drivers and the ability to analyse P&L (revenue and cost) and balance sheet/RWA performance is essential. Strong execution and problem-solving skills.
- Communication and financial storytelling Ability to translate complex technical and financial information for stakeholders at all organisational levels; strong written and verbal storytelling skills are essential.
- Ability to understand and apply technical accounting and regulatory concepts to the management and oversight of a business line.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to frequent and multiple changes.
- Strong working knowledge of Financial Systems or Data Consolidation models is key (e.g. Omnia TM1 HUB FTP and other similar systems) Preferred.
