Senior Hardware Engineer

The WU PD Controls Team takes care of Product development with detailed design technology and product platform support. The purpose of the job is to ensure design development and integration of hardware and software. You would be responsible for end to end development of the product. You will besides leading the execution also play a significant role in setting the long term technical direction of the solutions in the relevant product line(s). The position will be accountable for the technical solution on eengineering / architecture level for a development project.

What is the job about

In the role of Senior Hardware Engineer you will be accountable for the complete hardware development lifecycle from requirements and specification through architecture schematic design PCB layout prototyping and final validation.

Your main tasks will be:

• Drive hardware architecture and electronics system design for Controls products such as VFDs controllers power electronics monitoring devices.
• Select and architect microcontroller platforms (8/16/32bit) with ADC DAC GPIO memory interfaces (SDRAM EPROM).
• Create robust electronics architecture for controllers VFDs soft-starters and power-drive systems
• Lead systemlevel design for complex product lines ensuring longterm platform scalability.
• Develop schematics using PADS Altium and simulate using PSPICE / LTSPICE / MATLAB
• Experience in Design & Testing of electronic controllers embedded based
• Experience in Hardware Communication interfaces and Buses of RS232 RS485 SPI I2CCAN USB interfaces.
• Experience in system Design & Modelling in SaberRD/MATLAB Simulink simulations
• Strong knowledge on Interfacing of Power Electronics Devices
• Experience in Control System Design ( PID control)
• Experience in switching & conduction losses calculation
• Experience in Thermal calculations
• Knowledge of Design documentation process and full hardware project life cycle.
• Experience in developing Safety critical products using safety standards
• Experience in Design FMEA and MTBF
• Knowledge in Power Electronics PCB Design Clearance & Creepages
• Experience in Magnetics Design - Inductor Ferrite Transformer Driver transformer Flyback transformer Input & output Filters
• Experience in testing and handling of high Voltage Systems
• Experience in Fault finding and defect resolution
• Experience in System level integration and Board level testing & Trouble shooting
• Experience in coordination with firmware team during code development & testing.
• Knowledge on Induction / PMSM motor control theory & FOC control Algorithm
• Knowledge on 3 phase Transformations (abc to dq)
• Knowledge on third party labs for product testing compliance and certifications
• Working closely with the cross functional teams Mechanical and Software Teams for Product requirements.

Your Background

• Bachelors in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) Electronics Engineering (ECE) / Masters Degree in Power Electronics
• At least 12 years of experience working in hardware design in power electronics domain
• Experience in managing multiple projects at a time.
• Must have experience in PADS schematic & PCB Design software tools
• Understanding the Power Supply & Inverter designs
• Knowledge of heat transfer to PCB
• Knowledge of EMI/EMC design considerations and design for high reliability and high temperature.
