Job Summary
City Academy of Atlanta is seeking a warm wise and mission-driven Kindergarten Teacher. The ideal candidate will be deeply committed to being a cultivator of young learners during a foundational season of growth. This role is both instructional and relational - guiding children academically spiritually and socially while partnering closely with parents.
The ideal candidate creates a classroom environment marked by worship wonder warmth and joyful structure.
Key responsibilities of the Kindergarten Teacher include but are not limited to:
- Create a Christ-centered nurturing classroom culture
- Implement developmentally wise instruction in early literacy and mathematics
- Emphasize oral language narration rich literature and embedded phonics instruction
- Teach math conceptually and concretely building strong number sense
- Integrate learning across subjects through quarterly themes
- Maintain anecdotal records of student growth
- Provide clear warm communication with families
- Collaborate with faculty and participate in ongoing professional development
Qualifications :
- Agreement with City Academys Statement of Faith and educational philosophy
- Active Christian faith aligned with City Academys Testimony and Lifestyle Statement
- Bachelors degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education (Masters preferred)
- Experience teaching kindergarten or early childhood
- Strong understanding of early literacy development and conceptual math instruction
- Excellent communication skills
- Calm patient and relational classroom presence
Teaching Schedule
- On-campus teaching: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:45AM - 3:00PM
