Purpose of the job:
Working as part of a the Energy Costing & Pricing team (12 FTEs) within the Commercial Department this role will
support ENGIE to:
- Achieve an acceptable managed and mitigated level of exposure to costs and risks associated with
commodity and third party charges which simultaneously provides a competitive price in the market for both
downstream and upstream customers
- Realise our ambitions of supplying 100% green power by 2029 and continuing to grow our portfolio.
Key Accountabilities:
Ability to frame and simplify complex system interactions between the CRM CPQ and other systems
Acts as a key custodian of costing and pricing modelling standards to ensure a framework that is effectively
implemented and operated across the business
Adhere to and develop internal processes policies and risk frameworks
Develop maintain and improve models for cost and risk exposure analysis cost forecasting premium
determination and pricing calculations ensuring pricing friction is kept to target levels
o Be a key player in our transision away from Excel and into Dataiku
Design next-generation cost forecasting models set modelling standards and lead improvements to
business processes relating to the non-commodity cost forecasting
Ensure appropriate communication to senior management and the wider business of issues/solutions
regulatory changes and updates
Grow knowledge of others through;
o Being an approachable Subject Matter Expert within the Energy Costing team
o Communicating cost change notifications to key stake holders
o Designing and delivering training programmes to upskill those both within the Energy Costing team
but also around the wider business
o Sharing experiences through coaching and mentoring as part of the Commercial mentoring
programme
Influence senior management in their decision-making on topics related to non-commodity cost components
Leads the conceptual design of new costing and pricing frameworks to support emerging regulatory
commercial or operational requirements.
Maintenance of costing and pricing related data in relevant systems (Gorilla Junifer SalesForce)
Monitoring and understanding the regulatory landscape assessing the impacts of industry change on pricing
methodologies and cost forecasts as well as communicating and contributing to the resolution of any issues.
Provides expert guidance across all upstream and downstream costing and pricing activities.
Responsible for reporting on Economic Accounting Gap and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to allow
effective management of costs and charges and to propose and implement action plans to ensure they are
maintained within acceptable parameters.
Shape strategic discussions by providing insight on cost drivers portfolio impacts and long-term modelling
considerations.
Strategic thinking with strong commercial acumen to balance competitive pricing with cost recovery
Supports strategic costing and pricing activity across ENGIEs full UK energy portfolio ensuring consistent
approaches across diverse customer groups products and commercial structures.
Outcome Results and Key Performance Indicators: Assess the impact of market and regulatory changes on pricing policies/methods Collect and analyse cost/market/regulatory data and propose timely updates to cost recovery forecasts and risk premiums to ensure the impact of costs and premia on turnover and margin are well understood and optimised Data correctly ingested into quoting and pricing systems Ensures that costing and pricing analytical outputs reliably inform enterprise-wide decisions covering key commercial financial and regulatory topics. Gross and Net Economic Accounting Gap as well as co-ordinating any actions required to resolve. Prepare internal governance papers for significant changes to pricing policies/methods Propose improvements to policy and methodology to improve risk management competitiveness effectiveness Provide support and advise the wider business on bespoke price requests and large/complex quotations/tenders resolution of data/price validation exceptions ad-hoc queries on pricing Regularly analyse effective functioning of pricing policies/methods (e.g. pricing competitiveness) Regularly contributes to shaping costrecovery strategy and longterm methodological direction by offering advanced modelling insights and scenario-based evaluations. Support colleagues within the Pricing Team and department using appropriate skills and knowledge where needed noting any impacts on the wider organisation and ensuring these are resolved To recover revenues in line with costs To provide appropriate level of query management and support to the wider business in respect of Costing & Pricing activity for a catalogue of existing products as well as new propositions for gas/power and upstream/downstream

management experience at a later date.
This role is available as a full-time position or can be tailored to a 4-day week for the right candidate

Knowledge and skills: Hard Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including VBA PowerBI SQL Python o Proven experience of developing Jupyter notebooks and .py scripts for ad-hoc reporting and for routine tasks is desirable. o Experience with Git and environment management Soft Skills: Ability to demonstrate a practical approach to problem solving especially the use of creativity to resolve novel problems to the businesss advantage Ability to present technical information to a range of stakeholders Coaching or mentoring others to realise their potential Demonstrates the ability to operate as a functional steward shaping modelling practices and guiding others through complex analytical and methodological issues. Knowledge of commodity markets Knowledge of retail pricing policies/methodologies and systems. Knowledge of elements that contribute to final delivered prices and cost items incurred by business in course of gas and electricity supply
Experience:
Demonstrated ability to succeed in a complex environment
Experience of retail pricing techniques and systems would be highly advantageous
Experience of coaching mentoring or training others
Proven ability to undertake analysis of complex problems through the use of regression time-series
analysis and scenario simulations
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a degree level qualification in an analytical discipline or
specific related experience
