The Opportunity
Mattel is seeking a BI Developer based out of our Technology & Innovation Center in Hyderabad India reporting to the IT Director for Enterprise Data and Analytics. The person filling this role will be responsible for developing and maintaining business intelligence solutions using tools such as Tableau ThoughtSpot and IBM Cognos Analytics to enable actionable insights reporting and visualization for cross-functional analytics teams. This role includes collaborating with business analysts on requirements; creating robust data models reports dashboards and other solutions; and helping to ensure data accuracy and performance across our BI platforms. The BI Developer may also support and optimize existing dashboards and analytics solutions while helping to shape the future of the companys reporting strategies.
What Your Impact Will Be:
- Design and develop robust data models and other business intelligence solutions using Tableau ThoughtSpot and IBM Cognos Analytics to support enterprise reporting and analytics needs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements translate them into actionable development plans and ensure deliverables align with expectations.
- Design and build reports interactive dashboards and visualizations to help business users gain actionable insights.
- Partner with IT and business teams to deliver analytics projects and enhancements on time and within scope following industry best practices.
- Work closely with data engineers and architects to ensure data pipelines and integrations support BI and reporting needs effectively.
- Create and execute test plans validate data accuracy and coordinate the roll-out of BI solutions to end users.
- Provide training guidance and support to end users on BI tools and best practices acting as a subject matter expert for analytics solutions.
- Optimize reporting performance by improving the efficiency of queries dashboards and system configurations. Ensure scalability and efficiency of Mattels BI solutions for larger data sets.
- Conduct quality assurance (QA) checks and test BI tools dashboards and reports to ensure accuracy. Validate data against source systems to ensure consistency.
- Document all reports processes data models and system configurations for reference and knowledge-sharing.
- Design BI solutions with appropriate access controls ensuring data privacy and security.
Qualifications :
What Were Looking For:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science IT Business Analytics or another related field. MBA is a plus.
- 2 years of experience in a developer role or similar position working with reporting and visualization tools. Knowledge of ThoughtSpot Tableau and/or IBM Cognos Analytics would be an advantage. Certification in any of these tools would be a significant advantage.
- Demonstrated experience working with data and databases required including working understanding of SQL Google Cloud Platform/BigQuery would be highly desirable.
- Knowledge of data preparation ETL/ELT tools and processes would be a significant advantage in particular Ascend and/or Alteryx.
- Knowledge of data governance practices and data management tools particularly Collibra would be a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) principles and practices including an understanding of Agile methodologies ceremonies and tools. Certification would be a significant advantage.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
