Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Med/Surg / Cardiac / Specialty Units
Location: Hyannis MA 02601
Schedule: 3637.5 hours/week (3x12.5)
Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM 7:30 AM)
Work Requirements: Every other weekend and holidays required
Floating: May float between affiliated facilities and units
Position Overview
A reputable healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care across Medical/Surgical Cardiac and Specialty Units. The RN will deliver care using the nursing process while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes in an acute care environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care through assessment planning implementation and evaluation
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
- Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Serve as a resource and mentor for support staff and new team members
- Ensure compliance with safety infection control and facility policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development
- Deliver compassionate patient-centered care while maintaining confidentiality
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting
- Strong clinical communication and critical thinking skills
Education & Licensure
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Experience with cardiac patient populations
Unit-Specific Experience (Preferred)
- Cardiac Unit: Telemetry experience; familiarity with cardiac catheterization post-operative cardiac care and pacemaker patients
- Oncology/Stroke/Palliative: Chemotherapy/biotherapy certification
- Surgical/Dialysis: Experience with hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis; CAPD and medication certifications
- Ortho/Neuro/Post-Op: Orthopedic or neurological care experience
