Nashville General Hospital is hiring anEchocardiogram Tech for a PRN Pool position.
This position is primarily responsible for using ultrasound to examine and record heart chamber size and function valve motion and structure normal or abnormal blood flow velocity. Assist in other areas of Cardio/Neuro department as required. May administer medication to assist in visualization of heart structures. The Echocardiogram Tech also assists physicians performing transesophageal echocardiography.
As anEchocardiogram Techyou will:
Perform echocardiograms (TTE) to assess cardiac structure and function
Assist with TEE procedures and administer contrast as needed
Prepare position and educate patients for imaging
Document results accurately in EMR and maintain logs
Maintain equipment and follow infection control protocols
Respond to clinical requests and support emergency readiness
Required Skills & Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited echocardiography program
Active certification through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or registry-eligible (must obtain within 1 year of hire)
Cardiovascular credentialing through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) preferred
Knowledge of cardiac anatomy physiology and ultrasound imaging techniques
Ability to operate diagnostic imaging equipment and hospital computer systems
Strong patient care communication and documentation skills
High attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
