Job Summary
TITLE: High School Government/Economics Teacher
REPORTS TO: Principal
SUPERVISES: N/A
TERM: 10 months
JOB GOAL: Work with students to help them learn concepts in government and economics including civic responsibility economic principles and real-world applications.
QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING:
Bachelors Degree in Education
Hold an appropriate Tennessee certification license with endorsement in Government and/or Economics
Demonstrated organizational skills
Effective decision-making and verbal and written communication skills
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with
provisions of the Boards policy on evaluation of personnel.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide an instructional program that is differentiated.
Commitment to high student achievement & support for all students.
Knowledge of government and economic concepts including civic engagement and financial literacy.
Ability to exercise various teaching strategies to increase students critical thinking and analytical skills.
Create a secure classroom climate.
Analyze data and adjust your lessons accordingly.
Plan develop implement and monitor with student success as your goal.
Use available technology in your lessons.
Communicate effectively with parents and students.
Assist with other duties as assigned by the Principal.
