Job Summary

Description

Quantum information sciences hold great promise as a key to address some of the societal challenges that we are currently facing e.g. how can we improve the resolution and sensitity of imaging systems to better understand bio-chemistry processes or how can we ensure safe communication that cannot be hampered by any undesired third party.

If you are interested in contributing to research within generation and processing of quantum states with potential applications in the above mentioned fields of research we offer a postdoc position within processing and generation of quantum states in silicon core optical fibers. These fibers are interesting for quantum information sciences since they are naturally multimode and also have a very narrow Raman spectrum.

Responsibilities and qualifications
In this position you will be responsible for advancing in-coupling to these fibers as well as characterizing fundamental properties such as mode stability and generation of photon pairs using nonlinear processes of the fiber. You will be working in a team and specifically close together with the PhD students.

As a formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent). In addition candidates with prior knowledge and experience in working with nonlinear fiber optics as well as generation and characterization of quantum states and multimodes waveguides will be preferred.

We offer
DTU is a leading technical university globally recognized for the excellence of its research education innovation and scientific advice. We offer a rewarding and challenging job in an international environment. We strive for academic excellence in an environment characterized by collegial respect and academic freedom tempered by responsibility.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

The period of employment is 3 years and the position is part of a research project funded by the Independent research fund Denmark.
