Job Summary
Do you want a position where you can play a key role in strengthening and extending DTUs research into e-mobility and its role in prosumer environments DTU Wind is seeking aResearcher within E-mobility to join the Section for E-mobility and Prosumers in the Power and Energy Systems (PES) Division.
The researcher will contribute to expanding the universitys E-mobility research into new and emerging areas. This includes investigating how electric vehicles (EVs) support and interact with other energy resources in prosumer environmentsranging from smart homes to large-scale energy communities.
This research area is essential for ensuring the reliable and seamless integration of E-mobility within user ecosystems. It includes securing technological interoperability with other local resources and technologies optimizing EV operation through native energy management systems (EMS) and understanding the direct interactions with end users that are necessary for successful diffusion of the technology.
The researcher will advance this field through industry collaborations participation in project applications and contributions to teaching and supervision activities.
Responsibilities and qualifications
The position focuses on strengthening and expanding DTUs research within emobility and its interaction with consumerlevel energy environments. The responsibilities are organized into three interconnected core areas:
1. Advancing Research in Emobility
- Conduct research on emerging emobility areas including EV interaction with prosumer energy systems and native EMS.
- Develop and utilize experimental infrastructures and realworld testing environments in collaboration with industry partners.
- Demonstrate recognized research excellence through citations invited talks or similar academic merits.
2. Enhancing ResearchBased Education
- Integrate research insights methods and real industrial challenges into PES teaching and supervision.
- Provide students and staff with tools and facilities that support researchdriven learning and student innovation.
- Deliver highquality teaching acknowledged by students for clarity relevance and engagement.
3. Strengthening Research Collaboration and Impact
- Build and maintain collaborations with companies organizations and public stakeholders.
- Engage students in research projects living labs and applied environments with industry relevance.
- Engage in researchbased advisory work where it aligns with the research goals and strategic priorities of the division and DTU.
In addition the successful candidate will contribute to project coordination fundraising efforts and the promotion of DTUs research activities. The role includes supervision of MSc and PhD students as well as active participation in teaching collaboration and proposal development that strengthens the growth of the Section for Emobility and Prosumers.
Your Qualifications:
Required
- A PhD in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field with a strong foundation in power and energy systems.
- Proficiency in modeling optimization control simulation and data analysis for assessing emobility impacts integration strategies and systemlevel performance.
- Experience with laboratory work and experimental setups.
- Experience with universitylevel teaching and supervision of MSc or PhD students or clear potential to take on such tasks.
Preferred
- Knowledge of EV technologies and their interactions with energy resources such as battery energy storage systems (BESS) and photovoltaic (PV) systems.
- Documented research contributions within emobility energy systems or related fields (e.g. peerreviewed publications invited talks research dissemination).
- Proven experience participating in collaborative research projects including roles such as Work Package Leader key technical contributor or similar.
- Experience contributing to successful research funding applications (national or international).
- Experience collaborating with industry partners on research questions experimental work or datadriven studies.

Your Workplace
You will be affiliated with the Section on E-Mobility and Prosumer Integration within the Division of Power and Energy Systems at DTU Wind and Energy Systems. The section conducts internationally leading e-mobility research in:
- Grid integration
- E-mobility technology
- Prosumer environments
The team includes around 20 researchers with diverse nationalities and technical backgrounds and of which approximately half are PhD students. You will also collaborate with neighboring sections working on distributed energy systems hybrid power plants smart grids and market design as well as connect with the PowerLabDK research facilities.
Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
The position is for 3 years.
