We are seeking an experienced System Architect to support the development and evolution of a national standard for bridge and lock systems. The role focuses on architecture modeling framework analysis and providing strategic and technical guidance to complex infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
Translate existing system structures into updated architectural models
Develop architecture components based on analysis and validation of current system information
Provide advisory support on the relationship between architecture developments and system models
Analyze and advise on the alignment between related frameworks and the system architecture
Design architectural components of infrastructure objects (e.g. bridges locks)
Provide guidance on change management and issue handling within system standards
Create and maintain architectural documentation and descriptions
Advise project teams on the application of architecture models
Review project design baselines with a focus on architecture and compliance with architectural principles
Requirements
Completed higher professional education (HBO or equivalent) in:
Electrical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Technical/Applied Physics
Computer Science / IT / System Design
Automation / Industrial Engineering (or similar)
Minimum 5 years of experience with:
Modeling languages such as ArchiMate SysML UML
Applying modeling in multidisciplinary technical environments
Minimum 5 years of experience in:
System integration and system architecture
Architecture methodologies and lifecycle management
Business-critical or mission-critical systems
Minimum 5 years of experience working with:
Systems Engineering principles in complex technical projects
Minimum 5 years of experience with:
Technical installations in infrastructure such as bridges locks or tunnels
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills including:
Advising senior stakeholders such as department heads technical managers and project managers
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with bridge and lock installations including control systems
Familiarity with national or standardized frameworks for infrastructure systems
Experience working within or with government or public sector organizations
Proficiency in Sparx Enterprise Architect or similar modeling tools
Experience with model-based software/system development
Strong analytical thinking with a practical solution-oriented mindset
Results-driven detail-oriented and strong networking capabilities
