About this role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for aTemporary Full-time Lead Policy and Governmental Projects & Integration to join our dynamic Legal Services team.
TheLegal Services team provides legal privacy ethics governance policy and risk leadership across Canadian Blood Services product and service areas.
Reporting to and working closely with the Director Health Policy & Governmental Affairs the Lead Policy and Governmental Projects & Integration is responsible for management of key projects for the Health Policy Governmental Affairs department. On behalf of the Director this role leads the development of materials (briefing notes project plans agendas PowerPoints reports) organizes and leads multi-stakeholder meetings and consultations and engages with Canadian Blood Services senior leadership government funders/partners clinical community and other external parties as required. This role also supports the Director in maintaining integration of the Health Policy & Governmental Affairs team both internally and within the Legal Division. This includes organizing and facilitating team meetings and regularly liaising with the Legal Division Strategy Integration Lead.
Formula for Success
- Drawing on your skills in project management and stakeholder engagement you will lead key files in collaboration with the Director Health Policy & Governmental Affairs and Canadian Blood Services executives. You will oversee all aspects of projects from developing frameworks and approaches for multi-stakeholder discussions and consultations to drafting outcomes and recommendations.
- Utilizing your strengths in communication and content development you will create polished presentation and discussion materials including briefing notes project plans agendas presentations and reports aligned with organizational priorities.
- Applying your ability to coordinate and collaborate across teams you will support the integration of the Health Policy & Governmental Affairs team both internally and within the Legal Division. This includes organizing and facilitating team meetings and liaising with the Legal Division Strategy Integration Lead on divisional priorities.
- Leveraging your organizational and analytical skills you will support divisional and corporate reporting requirements as well as broader organizational initiatives.
- Leveraging your adaptability you will perform other related duties as required.
Desired Education & Skills
- Bachelors degree in public policy political science health sciences or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years experience in health policy government or a related advisory environment.
- Experience leading complex cross-functional projects in policy or government contexts.
- Demonstrated experience supporting or advising senior leadership and/or government stakeholders.
- Experience developing briefing materials (e.g. notes decks reports) for executive or government audiences.
- Experience designing and facilitating multi-stakeholder consultations.
- Experience within the Canadian healthcare system or a related public sector environment.
- Familiarity with health system policy funding models or intergovernmental relations.
- Experience working within or alongside legal governance or regulatory functions.
- Strong understanding of the Canadian healthcare system and policy landscape.
- Exceptional writing and communication skills.
- Strong analytical thinking judgment and issues management capabilities.
- Proven ability to collaborate across teams and drive alignment on strategic priorities.

What you can expect
- This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time/2 days of the week.
- You will work Monday to Friday 37.5 hours a week 7.5 hours a day.
- This role may require occasional travel depending on operational and legal requirements.
