About this role:

As a Senior Software Engineer-II Android you will play a key role in building scalable high-performance mobile applications that solve complex user experience and performance challenges while enabling seamless digital interactions. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer II- (Android) to lead the design and development of world-class Android applications. You will leverage your technical expertise to build scalable and high-performance mobile solutions that delight users. This role demands a strong understanding of Android technologies a passion for solving complex challenges and the ability to consistently deliver high-quality solutions while driving engineering excellence and ultimately the way we disrupt the market.

In your first year you will deliver high-impact Android features and applications to production significantly improve app performance and reliability and drive the adoption of robust engineering practices through high-quality code and strong technical execution. What You Will Do:

• Design and Development: Design architect build and maintain scalable high-quality Android applications. Drive the use of modern tools frameworks and best practices to deliver exceptional user experiences.
• Collaboration: Collaborate closely with backend engineers designers and product managers to ensure alignment of goals and seamless integration of app features.
• Code Quality: Write clean maintainable and well-documented Kotlin/Java code. Uphold best practices and contribute to code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
• Optimization: Identify diagnose and resolve performance issues in Android applications optimizing for speed responsiveness and reliability.
• Technical Ownership: Take ownership of complex features and components driving them from design through implementation and release.
• Technical Leadership: Drive architectural decisions within your scope and advocate for best practices in Android development.
• Lifecycle Ownership: Own and manage the end-to-end app development lifecyclefrom concept to deploymentensuring smooth and reliable releases.
• Security and Compliance: Implement secure coding practices and ensure Android applications comply with industry standards and regulations.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated with emerging Android technologies and trends to keep products at the forefront of innovation.

What You Will Need:

• Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: 8 years of experience in Android development with a proven track record of delivering high-quality apps to the Google Play Store.
• Programming Skills: Expertise in Kotlin and Java with deep knowledge of Android SDK Jetpack libraries and architectural patterns like MVVM or Clean Architecture.
• API Integration: Proficiency in integrating apps with RESTful APIs third-party SDKs and cloud services (e.g. Firebase AWS).
• App Optimization: Strong skills in debugging performance tuning and profiling tools for Android.
• Testing: Familiarity with testing frameworks like Espresso and JUnit for automated testing.
• UI/UX Knowledge: Solid understanding of Material Design principles and ability to collaborate with designers to implement pixel-perfect interfaces.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex technical issues.
• Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a diverse team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Open Source: Contributions to the Android community or open-source projects.
• Tooling Expertise: Proficiency in Gradle build system version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
