Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior PHP Engineer to lead the design development and optimization of scalable web applications and backend this role you will play a critical part in shaping technical architecture driving engineering best practices and mentoring junior developers. You will collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams to deliver secure highperformance and maintainable solutions.
What a day in the life looks like:
- Architect design develop and maintain scalable fullstack PHP applications and RESTful APIs.
- Provide technical leadership across projects ensuring high code quality performance and security standards.
- Lead code reviews and enforce best practices related to coding standards testing and security.
- Collaborate with product managers designers and DevOps teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Optimize application performance identify system bottlenecks and troubleshoot complex production issues.
- Mentor and guide junior and midlevel engineers fostering a culture of learning and technical excellence.
- Contribute to technology stack decisions system design and longterm architectural strategy.
- Support CI/CD processes and promote automation across development and deployment workflows.
Who you are:
- 5 years professional experience in PHP development.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and MVC frameworks (e.g. Laravel).
- Proficiency in MySQL and database optimization techniques.
- Experience with RESTful APIs microservices architecture and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Advanced knowledge of version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid grasp of security best practices and performance tuning.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript (ES6) and CSS.
- Experience with or similar modern JavaScript frameworks
- Experience with Linux-based server environments.
- Experience with Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Docker Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Experience utilizing Amazon Q or similar Agentic AI tools.
- Knowledge of unit testing and automated testing frameworks.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
