Scrum Master with Financial Services & Regulatory Expertise

Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced and strategic Scrum Master to lead agile teams in delivering complex financial technology projects within the investment banking domain. This role involves facilitating agile ceremonies guiding team members and collaborating with stakeholders across front-office risk compliance and IT. The ideal candidate will possess strong facilitation skills deep understanding of agile principles and knowledge of the financial environment ensuring high-quality delivery regulatory compliance and continuous improvement aligned with organizational objectives.

Software Requirements

• Required:

  • Familiarity with agile project management tools such as Jira Confluence or Azure DevOps

  • Knowledge of collaboration tools (MS Teams Slack) or similar communication platforms

  • Experience using reporting dashboards and metrics tracking tools

• Preferred:

  • Experience with project planning and tracking tools specific to financial services environments

  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting systems and compliance tools (e.g. MiFID II Basel III Dodd-Frank)

Overall Responsibilities

• Facilitate all agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups sprint planning reviews and retrospectives to promote team alignment and productivity.

• Collaborate with product owners to prioritize backlogs and ensure incremental delivery of business value.

• Remove impediments and resolve issues blocking team progress especially in high-stakes trading and compliance systems.

• Coach teams on agile principles fostering a culture of continuous improvement self-organization and accountability.

• Monitor and track sprint performance metrics ensuring predictable delivery and quality standards.

• Collaborate with stakeholders across business and technology teams to facilitate communication manage expectations and align project goals.

• Support the implementation of agile best practices process improvements and scaling frameworks.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to project delivery documentation and reporting standards.

• Track and report key performance indicators stakeholder satisfaction and process efficiencies.

Technical Skills (By Category)

• Agile & Project Management (Essential):

  • Facilitation of Scrum ceremonies backlog grooming and sprint planning

  • Experience with Jira Confluence or equivalent tools for tracking and documentation

• Stakeholder & Team Management (Essential):

  • Strong communication negotiation and conflict resolution skills

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and senior management

• Financial Domain Knowledge (Preferred but not mandatory):

  • Understanding of trading risk compliance and regulatory reporting processes

• Tools & Documentation (Preferred):

  • Dashboards for metrics tracking release planning and process improvements

• Methodologies & Frameworks (Essential):

  • Agile Scrum SAFe or other scaled frameworks

Experience Requirements

• 5 years of experience as an Agile Scrum Master or in a similar role.

• Proven track record leading agile teams in financial or regulated environments.

• Experience working with cross-functional teams across product management operations and IT.

• Demonstrated success in managing complex projects with regulatory and compliance considerations.

• Support pathways include extensive experience in financial services or enterprise projects implementing agile frameworks.

Day-to-Day Activities

• Facilitate daily stand-ups sprint planning sprint reviews and retrospectives.

• Collaborate with Product Owners to groom and prioritize backlogs.

• Coordinate with teams to identify escalate and resolve impediments affecting delivery.

• Track sprint metrics team velocity and process adherence; prepare dashboards and reports.

• Support teams in adopting Agile best practices and scaling frameworks (SAFe LeSS).

• Engage with stakeholders for project updates risk management and alignment on priorities.

• Coaches teams on continuous improvement technical practices and fostering a collaborative culture.

• Manage communication across teams and leadership ensuring transparency and stakeholder satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration Computer Science or related field.

• Relevant certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or SAFe Scrum certifications.

• 5 years of experience delivering agile projects especially in the financial industry.

• Proven leadership skills in managing cross-functional teams in high-pressure environments.

• Ability to facilitate structured meetings influence stakeholders and drive process improvements.

• Strong organizational analytical and communication skills.
