Job Summary

The Financial Risk Control team is responsible for maintaining and developing a strong control framework within the Banking Division. The team provides assurance to senior management that risks taken by the Banking division remain within Risk appetite regulatory and other policy limits by
- Identifying measuring monitoring controlling and mitigating market liquidity and credit risk on a post-fact basis.
- Building an efficient control framework to ensure adherence to the Banks policies and regulatory requirements
Performing daily controls and producing risk reporting information to the Credit and Asset & Liability Committee the Board Risk Committee and Regulators.
Roles & Responsibilities:
The Market Risk analyst in the Financial Risk Control team will provide oversight assurance and specialist analysis of the market risk associated with the structure of the banks balance sheet along with assisting in the continuing development of financial risk controls and this role you will interact regularly with the Credit and Treasury departments the Finance division and the corporate risk management division. You will:
- Be responsible for compliance monitoring and risk reporting market and liquidity risk exposures linked to treasury activities and the provision of related treasury risk expertise in support of the overall risk management activities of the division. You will review the quality and accuracy of daily and monthly reports.
- Ensure an efficient control and risk management framework on treasury activities and contribute to its and oversee the implementation of comprehensive risk metrics and reports for senior stakeholders in treasury ensuring that all the delivered information accurately reflect the market risk managed by the department.
- Contribute to the banks ALM strategy by providing detailed reporting on interest rate risk exposure and hedge effectiveness as well as regular follow-up of the banks deposit dynamics.
- Provide expert knowledge on derivative and fixed income valuation and market risk modelling elements (Interest rates (spot rates forward rates etc) Value-at-Risk Discounted Cash Flows stress testing etc.)
- Liaise with colleagues in risk management on a regular basis to ensure alignment in terms of market risk limits calibration and sizing and inclusion of new treasury products/processes into the market risk modelling and reporting framework.
- Take ownership of the departments reporting on FX and interest rate risks by performing detailed analyses on the underlying drivers and presenting to senior management if needed. Provide analytical support and expertise to the Treasury Department to improve controls and decision-making processes.
- Follow-up on regulatory developments in the field of financial risks.
- Look for ways to optimize the usage of the Banks risk-bearing capacity.
Required Qualifications:
- A Master degree in Mathematics Econometrics Engineering Economics Finance or other related field with strong quantitative focus.
- Experience in using Bloomberg Reuters as well as a knowledge of programming or database languages (Excel VBA SQL R/Python).
- Strong analytical mathematical and critical thinking skills with an excellent eye for detail.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) in English.
- Knowledge of the regulatory landscape (Basel IV CRR IRRBB EMIR).
- Interest in financial markets.
- Professional certification in Risk and/or Finance such as Financial Risk Manager (FRM) Professional Risk Manager (PRM) Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) will be an advantage.
