Referral Coordinator Family Medicine Residency Program

Your Role:

• Responsible for sending and receiving referrals electronically and via facsimile machine.
• Telephones or faxes clinical information to third party payers and health care agencies.
• Facilitates referrals for home care services.
• Facilitates assistance for patients identified as needing such for Home Health Care placement.
• Maintains department reports and supplies. Ensures department coverage.
• Ensures prior authorizations are submitted appropriately and timely.
• Schedules diagnostic procedures and Holter monitors with Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) Radiology.
• Processes stat and durable medical equipment (DME) referrals.

• None

Required Education:

• High Schoold diploma or equivalent

Required Experience:

• 1 year healthcare experience

Preferred Experience:

• Three (2) years of administrative experience.
• Knowledge of Allscripts Availity RadMD Humana Military Evicore Capital Health Plan^SM(CHP) and AIM Specialty Health(AIM) insurance provider websites.
• Good attention to detail.
