What this person does:-

• Studies how live production systems behave in terms of data workload patterns and usage behavior
• Designs architecture/assets for creating realistic non-production data environments without using actual production data
• Uses data architecture profiling and synthetic data generation approaches
• Helps engineering and QA teams work with production-like environments safely and effectively.
  
  

Role Overview

• Understands production data behaviour through telemetry query patterns observability insights and relational modelling
• Translates production insights into realistic non-production environments for engineering validation and performance testing needs
• Designs privacy-aware production-representative datasets without replicating sensitive production data
• Combines data architecture SQL performance analysis data profiling and systems thinking
• Contributes to modern synthetic data generation and AI-assisted environment creation approaches .
  
  

The three things they must be able to do

1. Define the architecture implementation strategy and data modelling approach for scalable production-like environments while guiding senior data engineers through implementation
2. Identify and build production data patterns sets through logs telemetry query and various observability mechanisms with limited or no direct production data access
3. Verify that generated or synthetic data behaves similarly to production in terms of scale performance workload patterns and usage characteristics
   
   

Must-have skills simplified for screening

• SQL Server complex queries execution plans query optimization query profiling
• Data modelling ER diagrams relationships cardinality referential integrity
• Strong data profiling
• Experience working with large-scale enterprise data environments
