Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Description

Our long-standing and highly reputable client located just outside of Halifax is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. This is a full-time in-office position will start on a contract basis and has strong potential to become permanent.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

• Manage full-cycle accounts payable processes including invoice processing coding and payment preparation
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Communicate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to AP

Experience & Attributes for Success:

• Post-secondary education in accounting or business is ideal; equivalent combination of training/experience will also be considered
• 25 years of hands-on accounts payable experience
• Experience with QuickBooks (considered a strong asset)
• Comfortable working with technology and accounting systems
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills with a client-focused mindset
