Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Nurse Manager II for the Labor & Delivery (L&D) unit of a premier non-profit healthcare system. This role requires a strategic leader to manage 24/7 operations ensuring clinical excellence and safety in a high-volume maternal-child health environment. You will lead a dedicated team of RNs and support staff focusing on operational efficiency and high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Departmental Oversight: Lead daily operations of the L&D unit including staffing workflow and patient throughput.
Leadership & Mentoring: Recruit train and evaluate a high-performing nursing team; manage performance and professional growth.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the unit remains survey-ready for TJC state and federal audits.
Financial Management: Oversee the departments budget focusing on labor productivity and resource allocation.
Quality & Safety: Drive clinical protocols that prioritize patient safety and enhance HCAHPS scores.

Minimum Requirements

License: Active California RN License is mandatory.
Education: BSN required; Masters degree (MSN/MHA/MBA) highly preferred.
Experience: * 5 years of clinical experience in Labor & Delivery (L&D).
- 3 years of progressive nursing leadership/management experience.
Certifications: Current BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) are required.
