Role Overview:As a sourcing professional will be responsible for managing and overseeing the purchasing activities of Sandvik Coromant India. They will work closely with the Head of Purchase & Logistics and the Purchasing team to ensure that all procurement activities are carried out efficiently and effectively. Effective & efficient execution of P2P requirements on daily basis in line with Annual Operation Plan as well as assigned activities by Purchase Manager & Head Purchase ensuring organizational targets gets achieved
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage plant-level purchasing activities to ensure timely procurement of engineering goods and services at the right price quality and quantity.
- Act as the first point of contact for purchasing at the plant/location coordinating with PU/SU and escalating issues to Purchase Management when required.
- Monitor and ensure timely closure of Purchase Indents from all departments.
- Release purchase orders ensuring compliance with price quality and delivery requirements.
- Negotiate with suppliers and support suppliers onboarding following governance guidelines.
- Develop and maintain a reliable supplier network through performance monitoring.
- Improve plant-level operational purchasing processes including planning procurement and logistics.
- Ensure compliance with purchasing processes and practices to achieve individual and departmental KPIs.
- Coordinate with Finance for supplier payment releases and reconciliation.
- Proactively drive cost reduction savings initiatives and value creation opportunities.
- Resolve P2P-related issues promptly to ensure smooth operations
- Maintain supplier master data and material catalogue codes for seamless procurement.
- Participate in and lead cross-functional team (CFT) projects and initiatives.
- Monitor measure and report all purchasing MIS as required by management.
- Maintain documentation related to ISO 9001 ISO 14000 ISO 45001 standards.
- Support and participate in Internal Finance Control audits.
Your Profile:Were looking for someone with the following qualifications and skills:
- Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering with an MBA/Supply Chain specialization.
- Proficient in MS Office; advanced Power BI skills.
- Hands-on experience with SOPIC SAP ARIBA; expert in SAP S/4 HANA.
- Strong negotiation communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to assess procurement risks and leverage data analytics.
- Understanding of global markets and diverse sourcing regions.
- Detailoriented with strong organizational and problemsolving abilities.
- Proven ability to drive costeffective initiatives.
- Skilled across multiple procurement processes and systems with experience solving both routine and occasional complex issues.
- Knowledge of importexport procedures and EOU operations (preferred).
- Effective in communicating with international suppliers and internal teams.
