Leader, Medical Imaging (228435)
Job Summary
In accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Manager the Leader Medical Imaging is responsible for the day to day operation of the designated modality/sites including capital and operating budgets booking and scheduling procedures revenues and receivables; supervises staff and provides leadership in best practices; recruits selects and evaluates staff; and works collaboratively with Medical Imaging Managers to plan strategically and set service delivery goals for designated modalities/sites;
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
Certification by and eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) or Certification by and eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Registered Diagnostic UltrasoundProfessionals (CARDUP) and/or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
Baccalaureate degree in a health related discipline or health care administration and completion of recognized management/leadership/supervisory courses.
Three (3) years supervisory experience in an acute health care setting.
Knowledge of Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS); knowledge of and expertise in designated modalities and best practice principles procedures protocols and equipment; and five (5) years recent related experience in designated modalities.
An equivalent combination of education training and experience may be considered.
