We are looking for a full-time Facility Operations & Intern to join our team! If youre an ambitious individual who wants to build a career in facility operations and master facility planning then we want to work with you! Emplify Health provides a professional hands-on internship experience designed to align the interests of the intern with the ongoing strategic and operational work of the organization. This internship offers an opportunity to gain exposure to both facility operations and master facility planning with a focus on understanding how healthcare facilities are evaluated maintained and strategically planned for long-term use.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in developing a universal facility condition assessment template and scoring methodology for evaluating healthcare facilities and spaces.

  • Participate in facility tours and building walkthroughs to document and evaluate the condition of building systems infrastructure and interior spaces.

  • Support the grading and documentation of facility conditions including building envelope interior finishes infrastructure systems and functional space performance.

  • Help organize and synthesize facility assessment data into structured reports and planning tools that support long-range facility planning.

  • Collaborate with both Facility Operations and Master Facility Planning teams to understand operational considerations capital planning needs and infrastructure lifecycle planning.

  • Assist in the development of standardized documentation evaluation criteria and reporting tools used to support system-wide facility planning.

  • Participate in meetings planning discussions and site visits to gain exposure to strategic healthcare facility planning and operations management.

  • Perform additional job-related responsibilities as assigned.

  • Adhere to regular and predictable attendance

Whats Available

  • Internship starting in May 2026 and ending in August 2026

  • Schedule: Ideally seeking a student or recent grad that can work 40 hours/week between Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

  • Location: Primarily remote position for residents of WI MN IA. Must be within a reasonable driving distance to our office in La Crosse WI to participate in training and meetings as needed

  • Pay: Our internships offer a wage of $17.50/hour

What Do You Need

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a posthigh school educational program in a related field including:

    • Associates degree in Facility Maintenance

    • Associates degree in Building Systems or Facilities Technology

    • Associates degree in HVAC Electrical or Mechanical Systems

    • Associates degree in Construction Technology

    • Bachelors degree in Facilities Management Engineering Construction Management Architecture Healthcare Administration or related field

    • Other related technical or facilities-focused program

  • Strong desire to learn and grow in the field.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Work Experience

Desired

Exposure through coursework training or prior work related to:

  • Facility maintenance or building systems

  • Engineering or technical trades

  • Construction or architecture

  • Facility operations

  • Infrastructure or building condition assessment

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Interest in facility maintenance facility engineering or healthcare facility planning

  • Strong observational and analytical skills

  • Ability to evaluate physical environments and identify condition issues

  • Organizational and documentation skills

  • Curiosity about how healthcare facilities are maintained operated and planned for long-term use

  • Ability to collaborate across operational and strategic teams
