About the Role:
The Cook is responsible for preparing meals in a timely manner for our Tribal seniors according to the menu. This role ensures proper food handling maintains a clean and organized workspace and keeps refrigeration and storage areas in order. Additional duties may be assigned to support program and departmental goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensures high-quality food preparation and service
  • Checks food quality (taste smell freshness)
  • Follows recipes and product specifications
  • Maintains proper inventory levels
  • Assists with special projects and additional duties as needed
Core Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • One (1) year experience in cooking for large groups required.
  • Must possess ServSafe Certification or obtain certification within one (1) year from date of hire in this position.
  • Ability to remain engaged until assignments are completed and overcome obstacles.
  • Takes accountability for performance and results.
  • Open and honest communicator and follows policies and procedures.
Essential Competencies:
  • Prepares and plates food according to recipes and quality standards
  • Chops slices and prepares ingredients and sauces
  • Follows proper food handling safety and sanitation procedures
  • Operates kitchen equipment safely and effectively
  • Ensures meals are ready on time
  • Maintains accuracy quality and organization
  • Works independently or as part of a team with flexible hours
  • Must pass background and character check
  • Able to travel and attend required trainings
  • Capable of performing all job duties successfully
