Job Title: Registered Nurse Post Anesthesia Care Unit
Location: Atlanta GA
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 32 hours/week (4x8)
Shift: Day Shift (8-hour shifts)
Position Overview
A reputable healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical and procedural interventions.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia and assess vital signs
- Provide post-operative care and ensure patient stability
- Administer medications including pain management and sedation reversal agents
- Assess airway breathing and circulation (ABC) status
- Identify and respond to complications or adverse reactions
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
- Collaborate with surgeons anesthesiologists and healthcare teams
- Educate patients and families on post-procedure care and recovery
- Ensure adherence to safety infection control and facility protocols
Experience Requirements
- Previous PACU or critical care experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of post-anesthesia recovery and patient monitoring
Education & Licensure
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required (State of Georgia or compact)
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (if applicable)
- Experience with surgical recovery and anesthesia care
