Job Title: Registered Nurse Post Anesthesia Care Unit Location: Atlanta GA Duration: 13 Weeks Schedule: 32 hours/week (4x8) Shift: Day Shift (8-hour shifts)
Position Overview
A reputable healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical and procedural interventions.
Responsibilities
Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia and assess vital signs
Provide post-operative care and ensure patient stability
Administer medications including pain management and sedation reversal agents
Assess airway breathing and circulation (ABC) status
Identify and respond to complications or adverse reactions
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
Collaborate with surgeons anesthesiologists and healthcare teams
Educate patients and families on post-procedure care and recovery
Ensure adherence to safety infection control and facility protocols
Experience Requirements
Previous PACU or critical care experience preferred
Strong knowledge of post-anesthesia recovery and patient monitoring
Education & Licensure
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required (State of Georgia or compact)
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (if applicable)
Experience with surgical recovery and anesthesia care
