Accounting Manager

Element has an opportunity for an Accounting Manager to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to lead a small team while driving accuracy efficiency and continuous improvement across core accounting processes.

As a key member of the finance team you will oversee day-to-day accounting operations mentor staff and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. This is a great opportunity to leverage both industry and public accounting experience within a global Testing Inspection & Certification (TIC) organization.

This is a hybrid position based in Blue Ash OH (3 days onsite / 2 remote)

• Lead and develop a small team of accountants providing coaching guidance and performance management
• Oversee the monthly quarterly and year-end close process ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Review and approve journal entries account reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Manage complex accounting areas including payroll fixed assets and lease accounting (ASC 842)
• Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and variances are investigated and resolved
• Provide detailed analysis and explanations of financial results to leadership
• Partner cross-functionally with Finance HR and Operations to resolve accounting issues and improve processes
• Coordinate and support external audits including preparation of schedules documentation and responses to audit inquiries
• Perform research on technical accounting matters and recommend appropriate treatment in accordance with GAAP
• Identify opportunities for process improvements automation and standardization across accounting workflows
• Ensure compliance with internal controls policies and regulatory requirements

• Bachelors degree in Accounting (required)
• CPA or CPA-track strongly preferred
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience including experience in public accounting (Big 4 or regional firm preferred)
• Prior experience leading or mentoring a team (formal or informal)
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Experience with month-end close audit support and technical accounting research
• Hands-on experience with payroll fixed assets and lease accounting
• Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a hands-on environment
