Position: Finance & Accounting Operations Specialist Location: Chennai - Onsite Shift Timing: 8.00AM - 5.00PM PST (US Pacific Time) Engagement Mode: Full Time About the role: We are seeking a highly experienced and commercially astute Chartered Accountant to join as a F&A Specialist embedded within a clients Finance and Accounting operations. This is not a transactional processing role the mandate is to diagnose on-ground issues within the R2R tower identify root causes with precision and deliver effective time-bound resolutions while simultaneously supporting the clients finance transformation agenda. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on expertise in General Accounting processes a demonstrated track record of resolving complex operational issues in live F&A environments and the gravitas to engage directly with client stakeholders at all levels. Key Responsibilities: Conduct rapid diagnostic assessments of live General Accounting issues across all process towers analysing breakdowns across Fixed Assets Accounting Month-End Close Journal Entries Reconciliations Financial Reporting Intercompany and Inventory Accounting with a focus on identifying the root cause rather than just the symptoms. Identify problem statements and gaps perform root cause analysis and implement solutions to resolve issues within stipulated timelines. Identify and clearly articulate gaps between sub-ledgers general ledger and multiple books of accounts and resolve mismatches within defined timelines. Present problem statements root cause analyses and solutions to client leadership in a clear and structured manner. Build and maintain strong working relationships with client controllers finance managers and operational teams to enable swift issue resolution. Collaborate closely with Transformation Leaders to provide deep domain expertise supporting process simplification automation and elimination initiatives within the R2R tower. Identify recurring issues and systemic inefficiencies that are suitable for automation or process redesign. Contribute to the design and validation of future-state processes ensuring solutions are technically robust and operationally feasible. Mandatory Qualifications and Experience: Qualification: Chartered Accountant Total Experience: Minimum 10 years in Finance and Accounting with the majority of experience within the R2R tower R2R Domain Expertise: Expert-level knowledge of Fixed Assets Accounting Month-End Close Journal Entries Reconciliations Intercompany Financial Reporting and Inventory Accounting Proficiency: Demonstrable ability to connect and reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger and across multiple books of accounts Problem Resolution Track Record: A verifiable history of resolving on-ground operational issues not merely performing standard R2R tasks in a steady-state environment Client Engagement: Experience working in a client-facing or BPO / Shared Services environment with direct stakeholder management responsibility Transformation Exposure: Prior involvement in simplification automation or process elimination projects within F&A operations
