Job Summary

Finance Manager in the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 534939) (to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

The LKS Faculty of Medicine of the University is looking for a seasoned finance professional who will take the lead in managing key financial aspects ranging from financial planning budgetary control compliances business development and other finance routines.

Applicants should possess:

  • a good Bachelors degree in accounting or related disciplines with a recognised accounting qualification;
  • at least 8 years of professional experience in the finance / accounting industry of which a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience;
  • a strong sense of responsibility and strategic awareness;
  • the capability of working proficiently with significant independence;
  • very good understanding of governance and compliance preferably in the public/ public utilities sector or sizeable organisations;
  • the ability to make sound judgement and motivate team members to deliver quality work and to define and implement strategies and initiatives;
  • the ability to establish influence and maintain collaborative partnerships and engage in effective negotiations with a broad range of stakeholders and to drive change programme;
  • strong communication and presentation skills and be a good team player;
  • innovative and business mind set with the ability to work under pressure and be a change agent;
  • an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; and
  • proficiency in MS Office Oracle financial system and QilkView business intelligence/reporting tools.


As a member of the Finance team of LKS Faculty of Medicine the appointee will be responsible for the execution of the Universitys financial strategies/ policies and procedures supervision/ coaching sub-ordinates and providing operations support to the senior executives within the Faculty. Duties include but not limited to:

  • supporting an efficient and comprehensive budgeting and forecast process that aligns with the Universitys planning process;
  • taking the lead in ensuring compliances with various external and internal governance requirements such as financial controls and cost allocations amongst various funding/ activities;
  • providing value-added inputs to support the growth of the overall business including the evaluation of financial implications of current and new activities/ collaborations;
  • contributing to thedevelopment of the finance team to further enhance departmental financial effectiveness and agility; and
  • managing internal customer relationships effectively andassisting the implementation of automated systems.
