Job Summary:
Responsible for preparing customer-supplied digital files for printing by ensuring all files are accurately formatted and ready for production utilizing software on both Windows and Macintosh operating systems.
Report To: Prepress Supervisor
Responsibilities:
- Read job tickets as well as all notes and instructions (customer notes digital paperwork etc.).
- Review and prepare digital files for printing.
- Ensure all files are correctly formatted and ready for production.
- Prepare imposition layouts for printing.
- Create proofs for customer approval.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the prepress process.
- Work directly with CSRs and production staff.
- Maintain all equipment related to department.
- Ensure all projects meet the highest quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers.
- Maintain digital paperwork.
- Review prepress dashboard daily for job priority.
- Assist in the development and implementation of prepress procedures.
- Follow all required safety procedures.
- General sweeping and cleaning of respective work area and department.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Job Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Macintosh and/or Windows operating systems.
- Familiarity with printing processes and file preparation.
- Proficiency in prepress software such as Adobe Creative Suite and RIP software.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Work effectively without direct supervision.
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Experience with imposition and preflight checks.
- Previous experience or education in Graphic Arts or related field.
Working knowledge of the following software:
- Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Enfocus PitStop
- OneVision Asura
- Kodak Prinergy Workflow including Preps Imposition
- Microsoft Office Suite
