Whats the role

As Head of Data Delivery you will be accountable for enabling business units to autonomously own govern and deliver their data products while ensuring enterprisegrade delivery standards scalability and reliability across Westpac.

Reporting to the GM Enterprise Platform Engineering Technology you will lead the endtoend delivery and transformation of data products and data solutions driving a fundamental shift from fragmented bespoke delivery approaches to a modern AIenabled repeatable data delivery model.

The role balances the reliable delivery of committed outcomes with the design proof and industrialisation of new delivery models ensuring delivery performance is maintained while enterprise data delivery capability is materially uplifted. You will play a critical role in embedding agentenabled delivery approaches scaling repeatable data delivery patterns and transitioning data delivery from episodic change to enduring internal capability.

What will I be accountable for

• You will own the endtoend delivery of approved data products and data solutions ensuring outcomes are delivered to agreed scope cost schedule and quality.
• You will enable business units to independently own and deliver their data products supported by clear delivery models standards reusable patterns and guardrails that allow safe autonomy at scale.
• You will lead the enterprisewide transformation of the data delivery model transitioning from legacy delivery approaches to modern AIenabled execution while maintaining delivery cadence predictability and throughput.
• You will design prove and embed new data delivery models through real execution not theoretical design ensuring new approaches are operationalised and adopted into BAU delivery.
• You will lead and manage data delivery teams and squads maintaining clarity of accountability through transition and shifting delivery from bespoke oneoff solutions to repeatable scalable data product delivery patterns.
• You will embed AIfirst delivery approaches including automation and agentbased execution into daytoday data delivery accelerating delivery speed and improving quality while reducing operational risk.
• You will define and enforce delivery standards patterns and guardrails that enable scale reliability reuse and responsible AI adoption and transition proven delivery models into core Data Delivery while retiring legacy approaches.
• You will coordinate dependencies across platforms products and divisions to enable seamless endtoend delivery flow stabilising operational delivery while new capabilities are proven scaled and adopted.

What do I need

• You will bring deep experience delivering largescale enterprise data platforms and data products with a strong background in data delivery platformled execution and operating model transformation.
• You will have proven experience leading data delivery platform or engineering teams in complex regulated environments and a strong track record of transforming delivery models while maintaining reliable outcomes.
• You will demonstrate a strong understanding of modern data delivery approaches including productaligned delivery automation and emerging AIenabled / agentic execution models with the aptitude to push delivery into new capability spaces.
• You will be comfortable operating at senior executive level influencing and aligning stakeholders across technology data risk and business units within large matrixed organisations.
• Experience in banking or financial services is advantageous but not mandatory; comparable enterprise environments will be considered. Familiarity with cloudbased data platforms (e.g. Azure Snowflake or equivalent) is desirable but not prescriptive.
