Scope
The Junior Academy(JA) Permanent Substitute Assistant will support the JA Director in filling in as needed at the Indiana campus. This position reports to the Indiana Junior Academy Director.
Qualifications
The candidate shall possess characteristics that reflect:
- A strong clear Christian testimony with a mature and godly spirit
- A daily example of the highest Christian virtue both in and out of school
- Commitment to faithful attendance and support of a church whose beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith for Christian Academy School System
- Agreement and belief that The Bible is the final authority concerning truth morality and the proper conduct of mankind
Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Be under the general supervision of the Junior Academy Site Director and is to cooperate in a loyal and efficient manner
- Will be responsible for assisting the classroom teacher
- Shall care for and treat each child with dignity and respect
- Shall assist the children in getting prepared to leave in the afternoon
- Shall assist the classroom teacher when needed for the following: break gathering of supplies/materials emergency situation involving a child
- Shall keep the classroom properly stocked with paper goods needed for snack and lunch
- Shall help in preparation of necessary materials for lessons/activities
- Shall be substitute teacher when asked by JA Director
- Shall attend and participate in all JA staff meetings
- Shall participate in recommended training programs workshops courses and other aspect so professional growth as needed in order to maintain certication
- Shall attend and participate in the Annual Orientation Annual Open House programs and other events sponsored by JA
- Shall assure each child he/she is loved that they have value that God made them special (II Tim. 2:15) and will pray for each teacher and student daily
Requirements
Experience working with children (preferred but not required)
The candidate shall prior to start date provide/successfully complete the following:
- TB Test
- CPR & First Aid Training
- Criminal Records Check
