Role Summary
A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide advanced respiratory care in a fast-paced acute care environment. This role primarily supports adult and geriatric patients and requires strong ICU experience ventilator management skills and flexibility to float between facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive respiratory care in ICU and acute care settings.
Assess monitor and treat patients with cardiopulmonary conditions.
Administer respiratory medications and therapies (e.g. nebulizers inhalation treatments).
Manage and monitor ventilators including BiPAP and CPAP.
Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and interpretation.
Assist with intubation and perform extubation procedures.
Provide airway management including suctioning and tracheostomy care.
Respond to emergency situations and support rapid response/code teams.
Collaborate with physicians nurses and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation (Cerner experience preferred).
Float between facilities as required.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of total respiratory therapy experience.
At least 18 months of recent ICU experience required.
Certifications:
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required
Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Required
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Preferred
Licensure:
Active Respiratory Therapist License State of Indiana
NBRC (RRT) Certification Required
