Job Summary
Your new role
In the global international headquarters team you will drive the development of sustainable cost driven packaging for Own Brand products across METRO Cash & Carry International. As a technical packaging expert you will act as the central point of contact for 21 countries ensuring technical excellence regulatory compliance and alignment with METROs Own Brand strategies.
Where your expertise is needed
- Develop new Own Brand packaging solutions that meet professional customer needs are compliant and costefficient for Food and NearFood Own Brand products in collaboration with suppliers and crossfunctional stakeholders.
- Lead optimization projects to harmonize existing packaging drive cost savings and improve customer experience and the endtoend supply chain.
- Ensure implementation of packaging aligned with PPWR requirements including reduction measures recyclability recycled content targets and ecodesign principles working closely with crossfunctional stakeholders and suppliers.
- Collaborate with all 21 METRO countries serving as the competence center partner for packagingrelated topics.
- Coordinate the collection management and analysis of packaging data within the specification data management platform.
- Oversee regulatory compliance assessments for packaging materials and formats.
- Support packaging complaint and incident management ensuring timely rootcause analysis and corrective actions.
Qualifications :
What we are looking for
- University degree in Packaging Engineering Chemical Engineering or a comparable qualification with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience ideally in retail FMCG or the packaging industry.
- Knowledgeable of European packaging legislation standardization food contact requirements packaging materials and ecodesign principles.
- Experience in collaboration with external laboratory and packaging testing.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex topics to diverse audiences.
- High proficiency in MS Office including working with data sets conducting statistical evaluations and creating professional PowerPoint presentations.
- Proven ability to collaborate within crossfunctional teams and manage projects independently.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Willingness to travel (up to 10%) across Europe.
