Role Summary:

The Implementation & Delivery Manager is responsible for the successful end-to-end delivery of key operational system partner and customer initiatives across Verifone New Zealand.

This role sits at the intersection of project delivery implementation and operational change. It plays a critical role in ensuring initiatives are delivered on time risks are managed stakeholders are aligned and outcomes are embedded into the business. Working closely with Processing Sales Technology Product and external partners (including banks and third-party vendors) the role provides strong delivery ownership coordination and governance across a diverse portfolio of initiatives. While not a people manager this is a senior individual contributor role requiring high autonomy strong judgement and the ability to influence across the organization.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Project & Delivery Management (Approx. 40%)

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of cross-functional business-led initiatives from initiation through to implementation and operational handover.
  • Coordinate delivery across business and technology teams without direct responsibility for software development or engineering execution.
  • Develop and maintain delivery plans timelines dependencies and risk registers.
  • Ensure initiatives are delivered on time within scope and with minimal disruption to customers and operations.
  • Coordinate complex migrations deployments or rollout activities where required ensuring operational readiness and customer impact is effectively managed.
  • Provide clear status reporting escalation and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Balance multiple concurrent initiatives across varying levels of complexity.

Implementation & Onboarding (Approx. 30%)

  • Own and coordinate implementation activity involving internal teams and external partners (e.g. banks vendors service providers).
  • Act as the central point of accountability for delivery readiness cutover and go-live activities.
  • Ensure operational teams are prepared to support delivered solutions through effective handover and documentation.
  • Support the implementation of new products services platforms or partner arrangements.

Change Management & Process Improvement (Approx. 20%)

  • Support the people and operational aspects of change including stakeholder communication readiness and adoption.
  • Identify operational impacts and work with teams to embed changes effectively.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies risks or improvement opportunities within delivery and processing workflows.
  • Apply light-touch change management principles; exposure to structured frameworks is desirable but not essential.

Governance Stakeholder Management & Communication (Approx. 10%)

  • Engage with senior internal stakeholders to align priorities expectations and delivery outcomes.
  • Build strong working relationships across internal teams.
  • Engage directly with external partners and vendors as required to drive delivery outcomes.
  • Prepare and deliver clear concise updates papers and recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in project delivery implementation or operational change roles.
  • Experience delivering initiatives in regulated technology or complex operational environments.
  • Payments financial services or banking experience preferred but not essential.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Exposure to technology-enabled delivery product change or platform migrations within regulated or payments-related environments is advantageous.
  • Experience working with external partners or vendors.
  • Formal project management or change management qualifications are advantageous but not required.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills at all levels.
  • Structured organized and pragmatic approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to translate complex initiatives into clear actionable plans.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to assess complex operational and delivery issues and recommend pragmatic solutions.
  • High attention to detail with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Calm confident and credible presence when working through delivery challenges.
