Secondary ELARMath Special Education Inclusion Teacher

Job Summary
Primary Purpose:
Provide instructional support to students in secondary (grades 612) general education classrooms in the areas of ELAR and Math. Collaborate with content teachers to ensure all students including those receiving special education services access the curriculum and demonstrate academic growth through inclusive and differentiated instructional practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate (Special Education certification referred)
- ESL certification (preferred)
- Knowledge of secondary ELAR and/or Math curriculum and instructional strategies
- Experience working with diverse learners including students with disabilities
Instructional Support:
- Provide in-class (push-in) and/or small group (pull-out as appropriate) instructional support in ELAR and Math
- Assist in delivering differentiated instruction aligned to TEKS and course standards
- Implement IEPs accommodations and modifications to support student success
- Reinforce and pre-teach/re-teach concepts to support mastery of grade-level content
Collaboration:
- Co-plan and co-teach with general education ELAR and Math teachers
- Collaborate with special education staff interventionists and campus administration
- Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and contribute to goal setting and progress monitoring
- Communicate effectively with teachers parents and staff regarding student progress
- Position may include a combination of co-teaching inclusion (push-in) and intervention support
- Strong organizational communication and collaboration skills are essential
Student Support:
- Support students in developing academic skills organization and self-advocacy
- Build positive relationships to promote engagement and success
- Assist with classroom management and maintaining a structured learning environment
Assessment & Data:
- Assist with administering and interpreting formative and summative assessments
- Monitor student progress toward IEP goals and course standards
- Use data to guide instructional decisions and targeted interventions
- Maintain accurate documentation of services and student performance
Professional Responsibilities:
- Participate in professional development team collaboration and campus initiatives
- Stay current on best practices in inclusion co-teaching and secondary instruction
- Comply with district campus and state policies and procedures
Working Conditions:
- Work in multiple classroom settings across grade levels and subject areas
- Frequent standing walking and assisting students
- May work with students with a range of academic behavioral and emotional needs
