Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial intake of patient and family histories prepare pedigrees and manage documentation for additional genetic testing.
• Perform administrative functions such as obtaining prior authorizations preparing medical necessity letters and coordinating insurance paperwork. Understand insurance criteria for testing including Medicare and prior authorization requirements.
• Act as a liaison between genetic testing laboratories health insurance providers and genetic counselors to streamline processes and facilitate communication.
• Screen and triage incoming referrals based on provided guidelines to ensure proper patient flow.
• Schedule new and follow-up appointments accurately monitor for new patient appointments and ensure comprehensive completion of intake information.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or certified as a Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) American Medical Technologists (AMT) National Health Career Association (NHA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or registered as a Medical Assistant (RMA) by the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA).
• Excellent attention to detail critical thinking skills ability to multitask and a commitment to outstanding customer service.
