To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth were looking to add a SMT Process Engineer located in Austin TX
The Process Engineering Manager or the SMT Process Engineer is responsible for establishing technical manuals drawings models training documentation preventative maintenance plans and troubleshooting guides for automated equipment and automated processes.
Shift 2nd: 3:00pm -11:15pm Mon-Fri w/10% Diff
What a typical day looks like:
- Recognize the manufacturing process technologies techniques and the product.
- Define implement and evaluate proposed designs and processes for manufacturability.
- Develop / Modify Machine programs (SPI Reflow AOI Pick & Place) as required.
- Drive yield quality and line performance improvements through structured problem solving.
- Oversee NPI readiness: DFM tooling documentation prototype support and production ramp.
- Ensure process control standard work SPC and compliance with IPC A 610 and J STD 001.
- Partner with Operations and Quality to improve KPIs (FPY DPMO OEE scrap).
- Support equipment strategy upgrades and implementation of automation or CI projects.
- Direct customer and technical interaction with strong oral and written skills.
- Implement statistical process research on new and existing products.
- Implement safety productivity and give in improvements.
- Improve manufacturing techniques and through put.
- Provide continuous development of manufacturing techniques that will improve in-house capabilities and gives in.
- Develop and maintain process documentation.
The experience were looking to add to our team:
- Bachelors degree in engineering (ME/EE/MfgE/IE or related).
- 3 years of PCBA process engineering experience; strong SMT and soldering expertise.
- Experience driving yield/quality improvements and leading root cause investigations.
- Familiarity with Lean/CI PFMEA SPC and DOE.
- Advanced PCBA technology experience (fine pitch micro components).
- NPI leadership experience in high mix or high-volume environments.
- Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt/Black Belt).
- Experience with MES or digital manufacturing tools.
