Summary / Objective

In this highly impactful role youll ensure our employees are paid accurately on time and in full compliancewhile also delivering benefits programs that help us attract retain and support top talent. Youll partner closely with our Director of Human Resources and dealership leadership making this a key position that directly fuels the success of our people and our business.

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Business Accounting Finance or a related field preferred
  • 35 years of payroll management experience required
  • 35 years of benefits administration experience required
  • Deep knowledge of payroll processes including balancing internal controls and payroll tax compliance
  • Strong understanding of employee benefits and compensation structures
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and payroll systems
  • Thorough knowledge of COBRA HIPAA and ERISA regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an automotive dealership environment
  • Familiarity with dealership pay plans including commission-based compensation structures
  • Experience working with dealership management systems (DMS) and high-volume payroll environments

Essential Functions

  • Lead implement and continuously improve payroll systems to ensure accurate timely processing of salaries commissions benefits garnishments taxes and deductions
  • Oversee all payroll updates including new hires terminations and compensation changes with precision and efficiency
  • Collaborate with General Managers the CFO and HR Director to develop and execute compliant competitive pay plans
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and generate detailed reports to support business decisions
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing and providing required documentation
  • Identify opportunities to enhance payroll systems tools and processes for greater efficiency and scalability
  • Administer employee benefits programs including health dental vision life and disability insurance
  • Manage retirement and savings plans such as 401(k) and deferred compensation programs
  • Educate and support employees on benefits offerings eligibility and changes
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll deductions and employer contributions
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including COBRA HIPAA ERISA and other governing requirements
  • Conduct benefits surveys census data collection and market research to support plan design and vendor selection
  • Monitor third-party administrators and insurance carriers to ensure compliance and service excellence
  • Stay ahead of trends and best practices in payroll compensation and benefits
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and organization

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Lead mentor and develop payroll & benefits team members
  • Organize prioritize and delegate work to ensure deadlines are met
  • Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations
  • Uphold and promote company policies procedures and best practices

Work Environment

This role operates in a professional office environment within a dynamic dealership setting. Daily work includes using standard office equipment such as computers phones printers and related technology.

  • Occasional bending filing and light lifting (515 lbs)

Position Type & Hours

  • Full-time position
  • Occasional evenings and weekends may be required based on business needs
  • Schedule changes will be communicated in advance whenever possible

Travel

Travel between dealership locations may be required to support operations and team collaboration.
