Technical Manager, M&M Laboratory Projects

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Manager M&M Laboratory Projects to join our team in Jakarta Indonesia. This is a high-profile senior technical position reporting directly to the President Director focused on the mobilization and delivery of high-quality laboratory services across the region.

You will provide the scientific expertise and inspirational leadership necessary to assure on-site laboratory delivery while troubleshooting complex technical challenges. THE ROLE IN ACTION

To be successful in this position you must enjoy the challenge of high-frequency travel and remote-site leadership. Your day-to-day will involve:

• Mobilization & Setup: Leading the transition and commissioning of new laboratory projects ensuring that Year 1 delivery meets AHKs global gold standard for accuracy and efficiency.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Acting as the final technical authority to resolve complex analytical challenges and discrepancies protecting both the clients interests and AHKs reputation.
• Operational Optimisation: Constantly reviewing our analytical footprint to improve turnaround times maximize throughput and implement innovative solutions that reduce operational costs.
• Site-Level Leadership: Championing and mentoring a multidisciplinary team of Site Managers across our vast network ensuring technical competency is consistent across every location.
• Strategic Advisory: Summarising complex technical data for the President Director and Group HODs to support evidence-based decision-making and regional growth.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Industry Expertise: Extensive experience previously working within the Base Metals and Minerals industry.
• Technical Standards: In-depth knowledge of international laboratory standards and the implementation of ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
• Commercial Awareness: A strong understanding of commercial transactions within the industry and the critical importance of technical execution.
• Analytical Excellence: Ability to ensure test methodologies meet accuracy standards and deliver reliable results for our clients.

Required Competencies

• Inspirational Leadership: Proven ability to lead develop and mentor a multidisciplinary team spread across several remote sites.
• Project Management: Skilled in setting realistic goals and targets designing clear project plans and organizing resources to meet strict deadlines.
• Innovation-Driven: A focus on leveraging new technologies to improve accuracy reduce operational costs and decrease our environmental footprint.
• Communication: Ability to summarize complex technical situations for non-technical consumption and present information with confidence.

Required Work Experience

• Project Delivery: Demonstrated success in leading and delivering complex technical projects or programs from inception to completion.
• Multicultural Management: Proven experience managing a broad cross-section of people across various seniority levels and diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Evidence of having quickly built trust and influence within a new organizational structure to meet business goals.

Required Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in a technical or scientific discipline (e.g. Chemistry Geology Metallurgy).
• A managerial or project management qualification is considered a distinct advantage.
  

Required Languages

• Fluency in Bahasa and English is essential.
