Job Description:

This position provides operational financial and strategic leadership for Cardiovascular Services at The University of Toledo Medical Center (UTMC). The Assistant Director of Cardiovascular Services supports departmental and enterprise goals by developing and executing operational strategies that align with UTMCs Mission Vision and Strategic Plan.

The Assistant Director partners with cardiovascular physician leaders nursing leadership and administrative stakeholders to ensure efficient compliant and high-quality cardiovascular care across inpatient procedural and ambulatory settings. Responsibilities include workflow standardization performance improvement revenue integrity regulatory compliance budgeting support workforce leadership and special projects.

This role requires in-depth knowledge of healthcare operations cardiovascular service-line workflows revenue cycle fundamentals regulatory standards and continuous improvement methodologies. The Assistant Director serves as an ambassador of UTMC within the organization and community promoting UTMC values while supporting excellence in patient care operational performance and financial stewardship.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualifications/Knowledge Skills & Abilities
1. Demonstrated success managing complex healthcare operations within an academic medical center or comparable healthcare environment.
2. Ability to plan direct and support multi-disciplinary clinical operations with financial accountability.
3. Ability to develop and implement effective strategies to improve service-line performance and revenue integrity.
4. Strong collaboration skills with physicians clinical leaders and executive stakeholders.
5. Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
6. Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
7. Demonstrated experience leading change and operational transformation.
8. Strong communication conflict resolution and service recovery skills.
9. Working knowledge of healthcare regulations reimbursement methodologies and compliance requirements.
10. Proficiency with healthcare information systems and Microsoft Office applications.

EDUCATION
Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration Business Health Sciences or a related field required
OR
In lieu of a bachelors degree an equivalent combination of progressive healthcare experience with demonstrated leadership responsibility may be considered.
Masters degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE
Minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressive healthcare experience including leadership responsibility.
Experience in cardiovascular services ambulatory operations procedural services revenue cycle or service-line management preferred.
Experience working in an academic medical center or large integrated health system preferred.
