Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Assist the Managed Care Actuary in monitoring and managing claims risks across medical scheme clients
- Evaluate the impact of managed care interventions and report on performance trends
- Extract manipulate and interrogate large datasets to provide meaningful insights
- Present analytical findings clearly and translate results into strategic client advice
- Engage healthcare providers on behalf of or in collaboration with clients
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Provide input on benefit design pricing and reserving for client medical schemes
Skills & Experience:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Advanced Excel capability; experience with macros advantageous
- Strong data manipulation and interpretation skills
- SAS and/or SQL experience highly advantageous
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy
- Ability to work proactively in a dynamic fast-changing environment
- Strong teamwork and stakeholder engagement capability
Qualification:
- Degree with majors in Actuarial Science Mathematical Statistics or Mathematics
- Healthcare or medical scheme experience will be advantageous
Competency Requirements:
- Enjoys working in dynamic environments rather than traditional actuarial settings
- Comfortable analysing complex problems using large volumes of data
- Demonstrates curiosity and does not take results at face value
- Client-centric mindset with the ability to influence and advise
- Strong personal effectiveness adaptability and commitment
