Job Description

On behalf of our client we are seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and optimise end-to-end operations within a fast-growing FX/CFD brokerage environment.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all operational functions across the business - including Customer Support Trading Operations Payments Operations and internal office management - ensuring efficiency scalability and alignment with commercial and regulatory objectives.

The COO will work closely with the executive team to drive operational excellence improve client experience and support the companys growth strategy in a highly competitive and fast-paced trading environment.

Location: Hybrid Malta

Responsibilities:

As a COO your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Operational Leadership (main focus)

  • Take full ownership of day-to-day operations across Customer Support (CS) Trading Operations (TradeOps) Payments Operations (PayOps) Human Resource (HR) etc.

  • Ensure all departments operate efficiently with clear processes SLAs and performance metrics.

  • Drive continuous improvement of operational workflows systems and client experience.

Trading & Brokerage Operations

  • Oversee trading operations including platform performance execution flows and coordination with dealing/risk teams.

  • Ensure smooth handling of client onboarding deposits/withdrawals and transaction flows.

  • Monitor operational risks and implement controls to maintain stability and performance.

Payments & Financial Operations

  • Supervise payment processes including PSP integrations transaction monitoring and reconciliation flows.

  • Ensure efficient and compliant handling of deposits withdrawals and payment-related issues.

  • Work closely with finance and compliance teams on risk mitigation and fraud prevention.

Customer Experience & Support

  • Oversee Customer Support teams to ensure high-quality timely and compliant client interactions.

  • Define and track KPIs related to client satisfaction response times and issue resolution.

  • Continuously improve the end-to-end customer journey across all touchpoints.

Office & Internal Operations Management

  • Oversee on-site operations including office management administration IT support and receptionist functions.

  • Ensure a well-organised productive and scalable office environment.

  • Manage internal vendors and service providers where required.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead mentor and scale cross-functional operational teams

  • Establish clear structures accountability and performance management frameworks

  • Foster a culture of ownership efficiency and collaboration

Strategic & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the CEO and leadership team to align operations with business strategy

  • Collaborate with Product Compliance Risk and Commercial teams to support growth initiatives

  • Contribute to strategic planning budgeting and operational scaling efforts

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior operational leadership role (COO / Head of Operations / Operations Director) within a retail FX/CFD brokerage or trading environment.

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end brokerage operations including Trading Ops Payments and Customer Support

  • Experience managing cross-functional teams in fast-paced high-growth environments

  • Solid knowledge of trading platforms client lifecycle payment flows and operational risk

  • Strong leadership organisational and decision-making skills

  • Experience working closely with executive leadership and contributing to business strategy

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

  • Hands-on solution-oriented mindset with the ability to operate both strategically and operationally

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to multi-jurisdictional operations and regulatory environments (both regulated and unregulated markets)

  • Experience scaling operations in a growing or startup-like environment to SMEs
