About the Opportunity
JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision of the Associate Athletics Director forCommunications Public Relations & Broadcasting and in conjunction with the goals and vision of the Director of Athletics this position supports an athleticscommunicationsprogram that successfully promotes Northeastern student-athletes coaches and athletics in all appropriate venues and that increases both public participation in local state and national recognition of Northeastern Athletics.
RESPONSIBILITIES INLUCDE:
Will serve as the primary media contact for at least three teams to promote Northeastern athletes coaches and sports through game day coverage social media photography statistics and website management.
Utilizes social media to tell the stories of Northeasterns student-athletes collaborates with video team on creative content and uses Adobe Creative Suite to promote teams.
Serves as the secondary media contact for mens basketball and main athletics social media accounts.
Assists full-time staff members with day-to-day office operations.
Monitors and updates with timely and accurate information including game accounts features announcements and news.
Travels with Northeastern athletic teams and handles related athletic communication duties on the road when appropriate.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a bachelors degree in communication marketing public relations broadcasting journalism advertising or closely related field required
Experience in athleticcommunications while not required is strongly preferred.
Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and understanding of and follows all applicable NCAA conference and University rules and regulations.
