Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Location: Paramus NJ Duration: 13 Weeks (with possible extension) Shift: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
Job Summary
A healthcare facility is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support patient care in a busy orthopedic clinic setting. This role includes both clinical and administrative responsibilities such as patient education pre-operative preparation and care coordination. The ideal candidate will have strong orthopedic knowledge excellent communication skills and experience working in a medical office environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN)
Perform patient assessments including physiological psychosocial and cognitive status
Assist with pre-operative and post-operative care
Educate patients on surgical procedures and pre-operative instructions
Conduct medication reconciliation and provide patient education
Assist patients with hygiene ambulation and daily care needs
Monitor patient condition and report changes promptly
Maintain a safe and patient-focused care environment
Communicate effectively with patients families and healthcare teams
Support both clinical and administrative operations within the clinic
Requirements
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program
Licensure & Certifications:
Active New Jersey LPN License
BLS/CPR Certification (AHA required)
Experience:
Orthopedic experience required
Medical office experience preferred
5 years of experience preferred
Required Skills
Strong orthopedic clinical knowledge
Patient education and communication
Pre-operative preparation and support
Medication reconciliation
Clinical documentation
Ability to follow and explain care protocols
