Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to strengthen our testing team by developing maintaining and executing automated test scripts ensuring the quality and reliability of software solutions. This role involves collaborating closely with development and QA teams to implement automation frameworks perform functional and regression testing and ensure high standards of software quality process efficiency and defect management. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in test automation effective problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to quality assurance in a fast-paced environment.

Software Requirements

  • Required:

    • Proficiency in Selenium WebDriver TestNG Maven Jenkins and JIRA (latest versions preferred)

    • Experience with automated test script development in Java

    • Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum Kanban) for iteratively delivering test solutions

    • Strong understanding of software testing principles SDLC and STLC processes

  • Preferred:

    • Experience with API testing tools like Postman RestAssured or SOAP UI

    • Knowledge of SQL and database validation techniques

    • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and version control systems (Git)

    • Exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter LoadRunner)

Overall Responsibilities

  • Design develop and maintain automated test cases for functional regression and integration testing.

  • Collaborate with development QA and product teams to understand requirements and automate testing strategies.

  • Execute manual and automated tests analyze results and document defects with detailed reproduction steps.

  • Manage defect lifecycle verify fixes and prevent recurrence through root cause analysis.

  • Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing practices.

  • Perform review of test cases and provide constructive feedback to improve testing coverage and efficiency.

  • Support the development of reusable test frameworks and scripts to enhance test automation scalability.

  • Conduct periodic reviews of testing processes tools and methodologies recommending improvements.

  • Stay updated on emerging testing tools techniques and best practices to enhance test automation effectiveness.

  • Programming Languages (Essential):

    • Java (core requirement for automation scripting)

    • Preferred: JavaScript or Python for additional automation tasks

  • Testing Frameworks & Tools (Essential):

    • Selenium WebDriver (latest stable release)

    • TestNG or JUnit (latest versions)

    • Maven and Jenkins for build and CI/CD integration

  • APIs & Databases (Essential):

    • API testing tools like Postman and RestAssured

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in test automation preferably in software development or QA.

  • Proven expertise developing and executing automation scripts in Java with Selenium or similar frameworks.

  • Experience with test management defect tracking and reporting tools like JIRA.

  • Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC processes including Agile delivery.

  • Support experience for applications in enterprise environments with high-quality standards is a plus.

  • Alternative pathways include extensive hands-on automation experience combined with a strong testing mindset even if from different domains.

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Develop maintain and execute automation test cases for new and existing software modules.

  • Collaborate with product owners developers and QA teams to understand requirements and improve test coverage.

  • Troubleshoot debug and enhance test scripts for stability and performance.

  • Log track and verify defects ensuring timely resolution and regression testing.

  • Integrate automation routines within CI/CD pipelines to facilitate rapid deployment cycles.

  • Review manual test cases develop automation scripts and expand frameworks for scalability.

  • Report testing status defect trends and quality metrics to stakeholders regularly.

  • Monitor application performance and identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency.

  • Stay current with evolving testing tools industry standards and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.

  • 5 years of hands-on experience in automation testing with expertise in Java and Selenium.

  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and automated testing strategies.

  • Certifications in automation tools or testing frameworks (ISTQB Certified Tester etc.) are a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
