Job Summary
We are looking for a highly experienced Snowflake Administrator with 12 years of overall IT experience and strong expertise in managing and optimizing Snowflake data platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for Snowflake environment setup performance tuning security cost optimization and supporting enterprise-level data operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and manage Snowflake Data Warehouse environments
- Handle user roles access controls and security policies
- Perform performance tuning query optimization and workload management
- Monitor Snowflake usage and implement cost optimization strategies
- Manage data sharing replication and failover mechanisms
- Configure and maintain Snowflake integrations (AWS Azure GCP)
- Implement backup recovery and disaster recovery strategies
- Troubleshoot performance and connectivity issues
- Automate routine admin tasks using Python/Shell scripting
- Collaborate with data engineers architects and business teams
- Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 12 years of IT experience with Data Warehousing / Database Administration
- Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake Administration
- Expertise in SQL and query performance tuning
- Experience with cloud platforms: AWS / Azure / GCP
- Knowledge of RBAC (Role-Based Access Control)
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools (Informatica Talend dbt etc.)
- Understanding of data modeling concepts
- Experience in monitoring tools and alerting frameworks
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Snowflake Certification
- Experience with DevOps / CI-CD pipelines
- Exposure to Terraform / Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Knowledge of data security & compliance (GDPR HIPAA)
- Experience with big data tools (Spark Hadoop)
