About the Position Position/Specialty: Peds Cardiac Prep and Recovery RN Perform a minimum of 2-3 patient visits per day. Under limited supervision this role is responsible for both pre and post-anesthesia care of special cardiovascular EP and interventional Cath procedures on a population ranging from the neonate to the geriatric congenital cardiac patient as well as sedated studies clinic visits and cardiac surgical workups. This role commands a strong knowledge of normal and abnormal cardiovascular anatomy and physiology. A minimum of two years experience as an RN with pediatric ICU or stepdown (preferably cardiac) or procedural care nursing is preferred. This role reports to the Pediatric Interventional Cardiology and Imaging Manager. Daily Caseload: Shift: 3 X 12s - 06:30A-7P **Staff stay until the last patient is either discharged or admitted; it is rare for them to be past 1900 Weekend REQ: No Is on-call REQ No Overtime - Will the clinician float within scope meet facility needs No Floating Req to Sister Facilities: No Required/Preferred Years of experience REQ: 2 years; preferred procedural or pediatric ICU experience First-timers accepted: Yes Cert/License Requirements: BLS ACLS PALS Special Requirements: Radiation Badge Req (Y/N): No Miscellaneous Open to accommodating block schedule No. Scheduling is self scheduling with the team in the unit. Manager finalizes schedule to make sure all shifts are covered evenly. Minimum of 2 Mondays and 2 Friday shifts/month. Radius rule Yes 60 miles. Are locals accepted Yes at on a case-by-case basis at 10% less than the posted bill rate Pending State License accepted: No SC license must be in hand prior to start RTO Restrictions: All RTO must be included at time of submission. Approval will be based on facility need. Guaranteed Hours: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks. STORM TEAMS** Travelers should be aware that all employees and contractors are assigned to emergency response teams. If this is a problem please ensure travelers do not confirm a new or ext assignment. Please note -- Hurricane season runs from June through November each year.
