Job Title: Registered Nurse - Hospice
Location (On-site Remote or Hybrid): Charlotte NC (onsite)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Work Hours: Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 17:00)

### RTO after booking is NOT allowed and is NOT allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly turn into a Cancel and DNR ###

Minimum Years of Experience: 2 Years Minimum Experience REQUIRED
Traveler Experience: Unit WILL ACCEPT 1st Time Travelers

*Medication administration/ Pain management Skills REQUIRED: (WHO) Analgesic Ladder Adjuvant therapy Breakthrough dosing Calculation of Pediatric Dosages Medication tolerance Pain assessment Pharmacologic/non-pharmacological pain interventions Proper disposal of medications Types of pain (somatic visceral neuropathic) and treatment & Utilization of pain scales (verbal nonverbal)
*Professional Knowledge & Skills REQUIRED: Goal setting with patient/family Intake assessment/interview Medicare state regulations Patient/Family education and support & Positioning/preventive shearing and pressure ulcers
*Symptom Assessment/Management Skills REQUIRED: Altered mental status Anorexia and Cachexia Aphasia Constipation/diarrhea Nausea/vomiting & Pressure ulcer staging
*Certs: BLS

-Medication administration/ Pain management Skills: Equianalgesic dosing of opioids & PCA pump management
-Phlebotomy/IV Management Skills: Phlebotomy skills Starting and maintaining IVs & Care and management of peripheral IVs/ central lines/ports
-Professional Knowledge & Skills: DME authorization of necessity
-Symptom Assessment/Management Skills: Ascites

JOB DETAILS:
***LOCALS APPROVED AT TRAVEL RATE***
-Avg. Daily Census: 63; 5 Visits/Day.
-SHIFT: *40 Hours Can Be Offered
-Will Accept 13 Weeks.
-8-HOUR DAYS; 0800 - 17:00
-Call requirements are Friday Saturday Sunday 8pm 8 am call rotations along with the other RNs in the department. We have a designated RN who covers weeknight call Monday-Thursday however we do take volunteers to cover when she is off for PTO.
-Float Requirement: NONE.
-Weekend Requirement: On Call Rotation.
More Info: The outpatient nurses rotate 2 evening shifts on call 8p-8a Saturday and Sunday every 4-5 weeks to cover patient PRN Death visit needs. We engage a nurse triage service who screen incoming calls according to our protocols and will contact our nurse if a visit is needed.
Mileage paid at IRS standard
PATIENT DIAGNOSES: patients with 6 months or less to live. Primarily geriatric.
UNIT SYSTEMS: EPIC Remote Client SBAR
***Epic experience preferred - home health hospice epic experience a Plus***
SCHEDULING TYPE: Per Unit Needs
UNIT ORIENTATION: 40 Hours in addition to Health Hospital Orientation
SCRUBS: Not Provided. RNs wear all navy blue
